Our Journey into the Orthodox Church

A placeholder page — the full journey is being written and will replace this note.

We did not leave Protestantism because we stopped caring about Scripture. We left because, the more deeply we read Scripture, the more it kept pointing us to a Church older and wider than anything we had known.

This page will tell that story carefully — the books we read, the services we attended, the questions we could no longer shake, and the day our parish priest received us through Chrismation into the Holy Orthodox Church, under the omophorion of the Antiochian Archdiocese.

Coming chapters

  • The questions we could not answer as Protestants
  • Reading the Church Fathers for the first time
  • Walking into an Orthodox Liturgy
  • Our catechumenate at St. Andrew
  • Chrismation day
  • What changed after — and what didn’t

Until the full telling is ready, you can read the related theology essays in the Theology section. Many of those were written before our conversion and are now being revisited with the mind of the Church.
